Classroom rules for Mrs. Tedford's 3rd grade class

RULES:

1)   Children may enter the school at 8:15 to go to the cafeteria for breakfast and then come to the classroom. Children may not enter the classroom before 8:30.  Be ready to start the day at 8:45AM.  If they enter after this time they are marked tardy to school.  All notes and homework must be put in the basket to be checked in and corrected.  Our classroom would will begin at 8:50 each morning.

2)   Keep hands, feet and objects to yourself.

3)      Please raise your hand to give an answer or ask a question.

4)      When the teacher is speaking you shall be a listener.  If another student is speaking you need to be a polite audience.  All children will have the opportunity to share their ideas and feelings during the class discussion.

5)      No chewing of gum in the class or on the school bus.

 

REWARDS:

1)       Mrs. Tedford will put a marble in the jar for each child that does not have their name on the board at the end of the day.  When the jar is full the class will have a good behavior party.  The snack will be a surprise.

2)      Mrs. Tedford will give you a sticker, special note for home or an award certificate.

3)      There will be extra free time.  This could be used as a class or for just a few.  You could pick to use the computer, read a favorite book with a buddy, write a story or play games.

 

CONSEQUENCES:

1)       Warning  Your name will be written on the board to remind you to follow the rules.

2)       X       Time out for 5 minutes to thing about your behavior and complete a behavior statement.

3)      XX     Time out, detention at lunch in the classroom or main detention, note sent to the principal that will be mailed home.

4)      XXX   Time out, detention as listed above, and a call will be made to your grown up at home or work.

5)      XXXX  Time out, detention as listed above, call made, and a meeting to conference with your grown ups and Mrs. Tedford.  The principal, guidance councilor may also attend if needed.

 

 

If the student’s behavior is severe Mrs. Tedford has the right to assign any level of this discipline plan that she feels is appropriate.

 

I have reviewed the classroom plan with my grownups.  I will always try my best.
