First Quarter Project
Let Your Opinion be Heard!
For this project you are given the freedom to a piece of fiction from the high school library. Choose a book that interests you and complete the following:
Get your book approved by Mrs. Field by: September 21, 2007
The Book Review
Students must write a book review that is at least EIGHT paragraphs. The review must be typed and include the following information:
a. the title and author
b. specific details regarding character, plot and setting
c. an explanation of literary elements used by the author (at least three with examples)
d. your personal opinion of the book
Power Point Presentation
Create a power point presentation based on the book.

NOTE: Each student is required to give an oral presentation that lasts for at least FOUR minutes. Students will use the power point slides as a guide for the presentation. Students must be able to speak freely about the novel and have eye contact with the audience. Students MUST practice giving their presentation before the due date. They must also be prepared to answer questions from Mrs. Field and the audience.
