Second Quarter Project
The Medieval Faire
This quarter you will be involved in a group project for English and Global Studies. You must complete the following steps:
1. Choose your group members wisely. Choose your group members from your English class. Groups may not exceed more than 3 students.
2. As a group, decide on a topic. Use the list topics from the CHS Library Media Center for ideas. Make sure your topic is approved by your English and social studies teachers.

3. Research your topic. Find three sources of information on your topic (for example, 2 book and 1 internet source). Create a bibliography according to MLA guidelines.

4. Take notes from your three sources using library note-taking paper. Get very familiar with your topic. Each group member must complete a Research Organizer concerning your topic. Also a Notes-Check will occur.

5. Using the information you gathered , develop a make-believe character, medieval setting and form a basic plot. Complete the Character Development, Plot Development and Setting worksheets. Your journal must have 1 main character and 2 supporting characters.

6. Each group member is responsible for 5 entries. For example, a group of 3 must have a total of 15 entries. Entries must be written in a rotating manner. For example, Jane will write entries 1, 4, 7, 10, and 13. Be creative. For example, make the journal itself look as if your main character actually wrote in it during medieval times.
