This quarter students will complete TWO small projects.
Project #1: Each student will write a Critical Lens Essay on the novel Stuck in Neutral by Terry Trueman. Students will be given THREE quotations to choose from for their essay. Students must include the following in their essay:
1. an interpretation of the quotation
2. a statement of agreement or disagreement
3. THREE examples from the novel that prove your position
*The essay is 10% of the third quarter average.
Project #2: Each student will write a theme paper for the novel To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee. After reading the novel, students will choose from the following topics:
1. Bravery and/or cowardice
2. Prejudice (racial, social class or gender)
3. Respect
*This paper is 30% of the third quarter average.
*The paper MUST meet the three page length requirement.
