Classroom Expectations:
1.) Be prepared and in your seat when the bell rings.
2.) Follow directions the first time they are given.
3.) Respect everyone in the room including yourself.
4.) ** Remember to follow the Code of Conduct at all times.
Consequences:
1.) Verbal warning
2.) After school detention
3.) Phone call to parents/guardian
4.) Office referral
Attendance:
** Students are allowed one late per quarter w/out a pass, after that, students who come to class late without a pass will be assigned an afterschool detention. Failure to attend the assigned after school detention will result in a referral to the office. Students must comply with the school attendance policy and those who miss class are responsible for making up work that was covered on that day.
Grading: (student grades will be posted by ID # in classroom every week)
Homework: will be given four times a week and checked daily. Completed homework receives 4 points, half completed homework is 2 points, and uncompleted homework will receive zero points. Homework can be made up to obtain full credit (4 points) as long as it is completed during the “5 weeks” it was assigned. Occasionally homework will be collected and graded, but this will be announced when the homework is assigned.
Quizzes: given approximately once a week and will range in point value from 10-70 points. Occasionally POP quizzes will be given.
Tests: approximately 4-5 unit tests will be given per marking quarter. These unit tests will be worth 100 points each.
Midterm: given during the last week in January and worth 200 points on student’s second quarter average.
Final: given during the end of June. This is a local exam and will comprise 1/5 of student’s overall final grade for the class.
REGENTS: There is no regents exam given at the end of this course. This course is Geometry prep course, students who successfully pass this course will be enrolled in Geometry the following school year and will take the Geometry regents at the end of that course.

Students will need to bring to class everyday:
· math textbook
· math notebook or binder
· pencil or blue/black pen
· scientific or graphing calculator (calculators may be signed out from me for use during the school year)
