I don't care if it hurts. I want to have control. I want a perfect body. I want a perfect soul. I am the way I am, so what you say cannot change me, nothing you can say will help me. I know what I'm doing is wrong, but you can't change me. I can't change me. It's something I cannot control. ED is like a drug, you get addicted to him. Having an eating disorder is much more than just being on a diet. An eating disorder is an illness that permeates all aspects of each sufferer's life, is caused by a variety of emotional factors and influences, and has profound effects on the people suffering and their loved ones. Eating disorders become the way that people cope with difficulties in their life. Eating, or not eating, is used to help block out painful feelings. Without appropriate help and treatment, eating problems may persist throughout life.
