FRESHMEN

On November 30th, Questar will meet with all Freshmen during their Social Studies class to explain options for attending a Questar Career & Technical Education Program during their Junior year.  Click here to visit Questar's website.

The EXPLORE® program helps 9th graders build a solid foundation for future academic and career success and provides information needed to address school districts' high-priority issues. It is a comprehensive guidance resource that helps students measure their current academic development, explore career/training options, and make plans for the remaining years of high school and post-graduation years.

Please contact your child's counselor if you need to arrange a parent-teacher conference.

Weekly progress reports are also available in the Counseling Center.

Mondays - Thursdays students can attend the Success Program from 2:20 - 4:00 for after school homework help.  Refreshments are served and transportation is provided.

WELCOME

Welcome to your Freshman year of high school!

Keep in mind that you have now begun creating your high school transcript.  Your transcript is a summary of what you have done during your high school career.  Since you have to apply to colleges early in your senior year, colleges use your grades from the FIRST THREE YEARS OF HIGH SCHOOL to decide if they will accept you.  Therefore, your grades this year are 1/3 of the grades used for admission to college.
See Transcripts for more information.

It is also important to begin your Activities Resume.  Join clubs and organizations that match your interests and personality.  Look for opportunities to assume leadership positions within these clubs.  Organizations outside of school are just as important.  See Activities Resume for more information.

Freshmen schedules have been created to ease the transition into high school.  Academic Seminar is an opportunity for students to work on projects, make up missed work and ask teachers for help.

Parents, if you are concerned about your child's progress, please call your child's counselor to set up a Parent-Teacher conference.
