NCAA

Any student who plans on competing in athletics at a Division I or Division II college must do the following to be eligible:

a. Earlier this summer, the NCAA Eligibility Center unveiled a new registration Web site for college-bound student-athletes planning to enroll in college fall 2010 and later.  The new Web address is www.eligibilitycenter.org.  The Eligibility Center feels that this new environment will aid you in easily accessing the vital information needed to assist your student-athletes and parents with the registration and academic and amateurism certification processes.  As members of the high school community, you will be able to access your information from the “For High Schools” link.  The process of submitting your school's core courses online will remain the same.

Student-athletes that have registered prior to the launch of the new Web site will be required to log into their current account (www.ncaaclearinghouse.net).  The student will be asked to verify his or her e-mail address and select a new password.  The information that the student has previously submitted will carry over to the new account.  However, the student will need to answer additional questions to bring his or her account current.  Once the student has completed the update of his or her account, all information will be accessed and maintained at www.eligibilitycenter.org.  The student will no longer need to go to the old Web site.

College-bound student-athlete’s who have registered with the Eligibility Center under the old Web site (http://www.ncaaclearinghouse.net/) and plan to enroll in college fall 2010 or later will need to have their information transferred to the new Web site (www.eligibilitycenter.org).  In order to start this process, please have the college-bound student-athlete follow the steps below:

1.        Direct the student-athlete to www.eligibilitycenter.org and to click on the spring 2010 or before link (this will re-direct him or her back to the old Web site);

2.        Instruct the student-athlete to log in using his or her NCAA ID or SSN and PIN;

3.        The next page will give the student-athlete instructions to start the transfer process:

a.   Validate the e-mail address the student-athlete wants the Eligibility Center to use;

b.   Log in to his or her e-mail account and click the link in the e-mail he or she received and create an account with the Eligibility Center;

c.   Log in to his or her new account on the new Web site; and

d.   Finish the incomplete sections of his or her "My Planner" information.

AND

b.  Print a copy of your completed registration form AND fill out a transcript request form in the guidance office.  Give both forms to Mrs. Broccolo in the Counseling Office.

After April 1st, please student-athletes must request final amateurism certification.  This must be completed in order for your student-athletes to be eligible to compete this fall.  Have them complete the steps below to finalize their amateurism certification.

1. Go to the NCAA Eligibility Center's Web site at www.ncaaclearinghouse.net.  Using your NCAA ID or Social Security Number and the four-digit PIN you selected when you registered, log in to your account.  (If you have forgotten the four-digit PIN, use the “Can’t Remember Your PIN” option on the login page.)

2. Once you have logged in, select “Enter/Update Amateur Questionnaire” from the options along the left side of the screen and answer or verify the amateurism questionnaire responses you previously input to make sure your responses are still correct.

3. Once you have finalized the questionnaire, click the button for “Final Authorization Signature.”  Enter the appropriate information on this page and then click the “Submit” button.

The Eligibility Center will only accept official transcripts.  Transcripts that are faxed cannot be used.  Use your graduation list in your school’s Eligibility Center account to know which students are requesting transcripts to be sent.  If your high school or district subscribes to one of the following providers, you may send electronic transcripts to the Eligibility Center.

Note:  You must complete the Amateurism Questionnaire to finalize your application.  This cannot be submitted prior to April 1st of your senior year.  All other requirements (including transcripts) should be completed prior to April 1st.
