SUMMER PLANS

Summer is a great opportunity to build your Activities Resume

  • Volunteer at local organization, youth center or adult home
  • Work a part-time job and save money for college
  • Work or intern in a career field you are interested in
  • Take courses at the Columbia-Greene Community College
  • Enroll in a summer program at a college; Opportunities available in the Counseling Center.

Freshman year is now behind you and 1/3 of your GPA used for college admissions is also complete.  The next two years are extremely important for college applications.  Rank and GPA for college admissions are calculated using your first three years of high school.  See How Rank and GPA are determined for further explanation.

Another important aspect of your future college applications is your Activities Resume.  For those of you who are involved in activities continue to be involved in both school and non-school activities.  For those of you who have yet to join any clubs, sports or organizations, it is not too late.  Use the next two years to become involved in organizations that you feel match your interests and personality.

For those interested in attend Questar III Career & Technical Programs next year, be sure you are enrolled in all required courses for graduation (See Graduation Requirements) and successfully complete all courses in which you are currently enrolled.

Become familiar with your transcript and check that all grades are reported and reported correctly.
