Keep in mind that
you have now begun creating your high school transcript. Your
transcript is a summary of what you have done during your high school
career. Since you have to apply to colleges early in your senior
year, colleges use your grades from the FIRST THREE YEARS OF HIGH
SCHOOL to decide if they will accept you. Therefore, your
grades this year are 1/3 of the grades used for admission to college. It is also important to begin your Activities Resume. Join clubs and organizations that match your interests and personality. Look for opportunities to assume leadership positions within these clubs. Organizations outside of school are just as important. See Activities Resume for more information. Freshmen schedules have been created to ease the transition into high school. Academic Seminar is an opportunity for students to work on projects, make up missed work and ask teachers for help. Parents, if you are concerned about your child's progress, please call your child's counselor to set up a Parent-Teacher conference. The Catskill
