Sophocles father Sophillus was a wealthy armorer. Sophocles was athletic and musically gifted. He led the chorus of boys at a celebration for the victory over the Persians in a war when he was 16. He wrote many songs which all have been lost. He won his first dramatic writing contest at 28, and then he never won lower than second place. His life was devoted to his art and the Greek culture. He was the favorite play write of his fellow citizens. Sophocles died around the age of 90.
Sophocles is most remembered for writing many plays, and being a dramatist. The plays he wrote were tragedies. He was also known for being very liked and well known to the people of that time. His poise, moderation, and urbanity made him very well liked. He was the first to write plays that fit each actors talents.
I think Sophocles Senior Superlative would be voted for would be most likely to make it on Broadway. If Sophocles was alive today he would be writing plays for Broadway. He would also most likely to be in the drama club in high school.
If a movie was being made about Sophocles, I think Johnny Depp would play him. He’s be good playing Sophocles in his younger years and older years, since he’s a very versatile actor. He’s also musical, and so was Sophocles.
